- 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 4 slices ham
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 2 ciabatta rolls or 1 small ciabatta loaf cut into 4 pieces
- 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon butter or olive oil
- 1 large tomato, sliced
- 4 lettuce leaves
Instructions
- Pat the chicken breasts dry, then season both sides with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
- Grill the chicken over medium heat for 5 to 6 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes, then slice thinly.
- In a small bowl, stir together the mayonnaise and Dijon mustard.
- Slice the ciabatta rolls and spread the Dijon mayo mixture on the cut sides. Lightly brush the outsides with butter or olive oil.
- Layer the sliced chicken, ham, and Swiss cheese onto the bread, then add the tomato and lettuce.
- Place the sandwiches in a grill pan, skillet, or panini press and cook for 2 to 4 minutes, until the bread is crisp and golden and the cheese is melted.
- Slice and serve warm.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add sliced jalapeños.
- This sandwich pairs well with a side of chips or a salad.
