Description

Delicious grilled chicken sandwiches layered with ham, Swiss cheese, and fresh vegetables.


Ingredients

  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 slices ham
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 2 ciabatta rolls or 1 small ciabatta loaf cut into 4 pieces
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon butter or olive oil
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 4 lettuce leaves

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken breasts dry, then season both sides with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Grill the chicken over medium heat for 5 to 6 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes, then slice thinly.
  3. In a small bowl, stir together the mayonnaise and Dijon mustard.
  4. Slice the ciabatta rolls and spread the Dijon mayo mixture on the cut sides. Lightly brush the outsides with butter or olive oil.
  5. Layer the sliced chicken, ham, and Swiss cheese onto the bread, then add the tomato and lettuce.
  6. Place the sandwiches in a grill pan, skillet, or panini press and cook for 2 to 4 minutes, until the bread is crisp and golden and the cheese is melted.
  7. Slice and serve warm.
