Description

A simple and delicious tuna pasta recipe that combines spaghetti with high-quality canned tuna, fresh tomatoes, and aromatic garlic.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz spaghetti
  • 1 can (5 oz) high-quality canned tuna in olive oil
  • 2 ripe fresh tomatoes, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp red chili flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook the spaghetti in salted boiling water until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil and sauté sliced garlic until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add diced tomatoes and red chili flakes; cook until tomatoes soften and release juices, approximately 5-7 minutes.
  4. Gently fold in drained tuna; cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until heated through.
  5. Combine the cooked spaghetti with the sauce in the skillet; toss well to coat.
  6. Remove from heat and sprinkle with fresh basil and Parmesan cheese before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier dish, increase the amount of red chili flakes.
  • This recipe can be served warm or at room temperature.
