Description
Delicious fudge brownies layered with a coffee cream and topped with rich chocolate ganache.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box fudge brownie mix (for a 9×13-inch pan)
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons instant coffee granules
- 1 tablespoon hot water
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Start by preheating your oven and preparing a 9×13-inch baking pan. You can line it with parchment paper for easy lifting later. Mix the brownie batter according to the instructions on the box — typically combining eggs, oil, and water with the mix — and pour it into your pan. Bake until the brownies are set and the edges pull slightly away from the pan. Let them cool completely before moving to the next layer.
- While your brownies cool, dissolve the instant coffee in a tablespoon of hot water. Let it sit and cool slightly. In a medium mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, followed by the dissolved coffee, milk, and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth and fluffy. The result should be a soft, spreadable cream with a gentle coffee aroma — not too overpowering, just enough to tickle your senses. Spread this layer evenly over the cooled brownies. Use an offset spatula for a smooth, even finish. Place the pan in the fridge to firm up while you prepare the ganache.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the chocolate chips and heavy cream together in short bursts (15–20 seconds), stirring in between, until melted and smooth. Let it cool for a few minutes, then pour the ganache over the coffee cream layer and gently spread it to cover the surface. Chill the entire pan again for at least 30 minutes to let everything set beautifully. Once firm, slice into squares — and prepare to fall in love with the deep chocolate flavor and soft coffee kiss in every bite.
Notes
- For best results, use high-quality chocolate chips for the ganache.
- Let the brownies cool completely before adding the cream layer to avoid melting.
- Store leftover brownies in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
