Description

This orange cake is light, moist, and perfect for any occasion!


Ingredients

  • 1 cup orange soda
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the orange cake mix, orange soda, eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract.
  3. Beat until the batter is smooth and fully combined.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
  5. Bake for 28 to 34 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Let the cake cool completely in the pan before frosting.
  7. In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth and creamy.
  8. Add the powdered sugar, orange zest, milk, and salt, then beat until the frosting is fluffy.
  9. Spread the frosting evenly over the cooled cake.
  10. Slice and serve, or chill the cake for 30 minutes for cleaner slices.
